Our Year 6 Market Day was a fantastic success and provided students with an authentic opportunity to put their learning into action! Over the past few weeks, students have worked collaboratively to develop business ideas, plan products, consider pricing, create advertising and prepare for the big day.
On Market Day, students took on a range of roles including business owners, salespeople, cashiers and marketing managers. From delicious brownies, cookies and fried rice to slime, popcorn, fairy floss and snow cones, there was something for everyone!
It was wonderful to see students demonstrating resourcefulness, cooperation, creativity and perseverance as they managed their stalls and responded to the challenges of running a small business. They had to think on their feet, communicate effectively with customers and work together to make their businesses successful.
Most importantly, the money raised will contribute towards our Year 6 end-of-year celebrations. A huge thank you to our families for their generous support, donations and encouragement throughout the planning process. Together, our Year 6 students raised an incredible $4,415!
This was a valuable and memorable learning experience, and we are incredibly proud of the way our students embraced the challenge. Well done, Year 6!
