JUNIOR SCHOOL SUBJECT OFFERINGS

Bayside Christian College provides all of the subjects required and mandated by the Australian Curriculum. Subjects are derived from the following learning areas:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Humanities and Social Sciences
  • The Arts – Music, Dance, Drama and Visual Art
  • Technology

In addition, our Junior School students take specialist lessons in STEAM and Auslan, and attend weekly Chapels in which they learn about God and His purpose for our lives. The College operates specialist Numeracy and Literacy programs that are specifically targeted to support students in these early years. This specialist program is data driven and provides clear evidence to support, direct and target individualised student learning.

While all schools must deliver the Australian Curriculum, but not all education systems, platforms or approaches are the same. This is where we find the Bayside difference!

The Bayside difference:

  • Our staff did not choose these careers because it was just another job, they feel a deep calling to the vocation of teaching and this drives their motivations and heart for helping young people.
  • Our College is founded and intrinsically forged with our Christian faith. These fundamental beliefs are found in the manner in which we care for all, the inner commitment we have to our vocation, and the motivations behind all we do.
    • These beliefs also ensure that the teaching of God’s Word is not a mere addition to what we do, but delicately and robustly intertwined in all teaching and learning. These Biblical beliefs and teachings direct and guide the development of all students to be kinder, more considerate and more caring to all others.
  • Our Teaching and Learning processes are based on credible research and as such incorporates the very best practices known to enable, support, and direct student learning.
