ICT
In ICT in Term 2, the students were tasked with designing a website suitable for use with junior school students to practice their mathematics. There were some great designs, and in Term 3 their assessment project involved taking a page template and using it to implement their design.
The range of websites produced was impressive, despite all students starting with the same template and client brief, their websites were widely different. As the final project for the Year 12 cohort, it was pleasing to have witnessed their growth over the years, and the maturity with which they approached their final project was a pleasure to see.
Media Arts
The Year 7-8 Media Arts students have been learning the art of Foley – adding sound effects to movies. The imagination of the students was evident, as the variety of sounds utilised in their projects was broad and, mostly, appropriate!
The Year 12s working on their last Media Arts project to the college, were tasked with designing and animating a video game character for a fictitious video game of their own design. It has been fascinating to see their growth over the senior years, and I wish them well in their future endeavours.
