Visual Arts has been a colourful, creative, and exciting space for students to explore their ideas and discover what they can achieve. Throughout the term, junior school students have enjoyed a variety of units that encouraged them to try new approaches, experiment with different techniques and develop their own creative style.

Each unit introduced students to new themes, artists, materials, and ways of working. From drawing and painting to mixed media, recycled materials and three-dimensional artworks, students had plenty of opportunities to get hands-on and discover what different materials could do. Trying new media helped students build their skills, confidence and understanding while encouraging them to think creatively and problem-solve along the way.

It has been wonderful to see students take ownership of their ideas and develop artworks that reflect their individual personalities and creativity. There has been plenty of experimenting, some creative mess, lots of colour and, most importantly, a willingness to give things a go!

The artworks a just a small selection of the work carried out over the term from a variety of different classes.
