Anzac Day March and Service

About the Event

Anzac Day is nationally recognised as a time to pause, remember, and honour the service and sacrifice of Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women. One meaningful way to uphold the Anzac spirit is by attending a local Anzac Day service and standing in quiet respect with the wider community.

Bayside Christian College students from Kindy to Year 12 are warmly invited to represent the College at the local Anzac Day March and Service in Pialba. Students are welcome to attend whether they participate in the march or simply stand in support and remembrance.

Event Details
Meeting Point:
RSL Car Park, Pialba
Schedule:

8:30 am – Staff available to meet students at the RSL car park

8:45 am – Students assemble

9:15 am – March step-off to Freedom Park via Torquay Road

9:45 am – Main service commences at Freedom Park, Main Street, Pialba

(The service will begin once all marchers have arrived)

10:30–10:45 am – Approximate conclusion of service

Staff members will accompany students throughout the march.

Student Expectations

Students are to wear formal school uniform and hat
Please bring a water bottle and apply sunscreen before arrival
Students may wear family medals as a mark of respect and recognition of their family’s service
Our Senior School Captains and Junior Leaders will lay a wreath on behalf of the College

For safety reasons, parents are kindly asked not to join students during the march from the RSL car park to Freedom Park, as this may pose a workplace health and safety concern.

Parent Information

Parents may collect their child after the service concludes at Freedom Park. Please wait until the service has finished before approaching student marchers.
Participation in the march and service is voluntary, and students are not required to take part; however, all attendance is valued as a sign of respect and remembrance.
Parents are also warmly invited to attend the Bayside Christian College Anzac Day Assembly, to be held on Friday 24 April at 8:45 am in the Basketball Court.
