While strong literacy and numeracy foundations remain essential, we know that education today is about much more than this. The world our children are growing up in is changing rapidly, and many of the careers they will pursue have not yet been created. Our collective role is to prepare students with not only the knowledge they will need, but the skills and dispositions that will enable them to thrive in the future.
Throughout our curriculum, we intentionally embed the teaching of transferable life skills such as perseverance, resilience, critical thinking, and determination. These capabilities empower students to embrace challenges, learn from setbacks and approach new opportunities with confidence.
As a Christian College, our faith provides the foundation for everything we do. We believe that each child is uniquely created with purpose and we seek to nurture not only capable learners but young people of strong character, compassion and integrity. By weaving biblical values throughout teaching and learning, we encourage students to develop wisdom, serve others with humility and approach the future with courage, hope and confidence in God’s plan for them.
As we prepare students for the future, it is also important that they develop an understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Much like the introduction of computers, the internet and other emerging technologies, AI is rapidly transforming the way people learn, work and solve problems. Many industries are already embracing its opportunities and our students will increasingly encounter AI throughout their careers and daily lives. We believe it is essential that students learn how to use AI safely, ethically and effectively. This includes understanding both its possibilities and its limitations, developing the skills to think critically about AI-generated information and recognising the importance of human creativity, judgement and responsibility. By becoming informed and responsible users of AI, students will be better equipped to navigate a changing world and use technology as a tool to enhance learning, innovation and service to others.
