From the Board Chair: Finding Hope in Life’s Hardest Seasons
In Romans chapter 4, Paul outlines the many ways in which Abraham acted in faith, believing and following God in unlikely circumstances. These acts of faith are “credited to him as righteousness” over and over. Paul then celebrates that this crediting of righteousness applies also to all who believe God sent, and raised, Jesus to deliver us from bondage and death.
Chapter 5 then opens with the hope and peace that faith brings, with what are surely some of the most encouraging and profound truths in the Bible (v1-2):
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.
Here though, the text pivots to suffering.
Introducing Beyond the Heart – a series of thought-provoking articles written by Bayside Christian College leaders and partners.
There are times at which there are issues of such significance in our world that we need to talk about them, we need to raise them … even if they are controversial.
Beyond the Heart is designed for such a purpose. The series will take some of the current social issues, those affecting our community, those affecting us as Australians, as Christians, and offer a range of thoughts and opinions. Sometimes potentially controversial, but only ever intended to create personal reflection and respectful dialogue.

Care Shines Through with College Food Drive
The Bayside Christian College community is one that truly cares, and this was made clear through a generous donation to local low-cost grocery provider, WeCare2.
College staff delivered a large donation of non-perishable food and toiletry items to the WeCare2 store on Main St, all collected through a food drive held in Term 2.
Students Lend Helping Hand at Running Festival
Bayside students proved a sight for sore eyes and tired legs as they manned aid stations at the inaugural Hervey Bay Half Marathon Festival.
It was an epic volunteering effort from the young leaders, starting well before sunrise, with set up commencing from 5.30am on Sunday June 21.
