5T has had an amazing start to Term Three. In Mathematics, the students were introduced to the concepts of factors and multiples.
The class engaged in a variety of activities to explore these concepts, putting their learning into practice by writing on mini whiteboards and using Unifix blocks. They learnt how to utilise algorithms and flow charts to determine whether a given number is a multiple.
To conclude the week, the students worked in pairs to complete a virtual maths escape room. Each question provided them with a digit for the final escape code. It was a tricky challenge, but the students successfully applied the strategies they had learnt to solve the problems. Through this activity, they also discovered how important it is to read questions carefully to ensure they are solved accurately. In the end, everyone thoroughly enjoyed learning about multiples and factors and loved just how fun Maths can be!
